Positive and Negative Space, Contour Line of Still Life

This is my Positive Space drawing. I used the entertainment center as one piece of furniture, the cable box as another the television, and the lamp as the others. I am very happy as to how these came out!

This is the same drawing as above except it shows the Negative Space.

This is my contour line drawing of the still life objects.

Gesture Drawings 2

Sorry the second drawing is side ways. I rotated it in the file yet it keeps showing it this way..

Still life Objects

My rectangular object I chose (In the back next to the cone) was an old N64 game box (cardboard), the cone I chose was a piece of construction paper folded and leveled, the square object I chose (front on the left) was a tissue box (cardboard), my cylindrical object was an old frosting container (plastic), and my circular object (front) was a rubber bouncy ball.  I had the most difficulty painting the ball and I know I will have to go over it once again at a later time.

Line Drawings

This is my first attempt at an organization line drawing. Up at my family's camp we have an outhouse which I figured might be fun to draw.

Here is a picture of a  contour line drawing. I had trouble understanding the concept of a contour line drawing so I spent most of my time looking for examples and from what I read on contour line drawings and from what I saw, this is the outcome.

And finally here is the continuous line drawing. I saw these flowers (and buds) up at the camp and figured it would be easy to draw them as a continuous drawing.

I tried my best to draw for the two hours although I believe I only spent about an hour an a half on these three drawings. I tried several others examples and felt that these were the top three that I had drawn.

Gesture Drawings

These are my first five gesture drawings. I found them a bit awkward to create due to having to stand up and not look at my paper while I was watching someone move / hold a pose. I tried one of my dog (second one above) and I realized that was probably something I should not try again.

Self Portrait

So here is my self portrait.. As you can probably see I clearly am no prestige artist by all means. When possible, I prefer to draw items from nature. I'm sure that by the end of the course I will be more confident in my skills but until then, here we go! :)

Unified Drawings

This was the first medium I used, Graphite B, which I was very familiar with the "pencil" aspect of it. Because I was familiar with the medium it was the easiest for me to use and felt comfortable with it. I believe I would use this medium to draw with most since it has has the ability to be erased clearly and it can have either a flat characteristic or a pointed tip.

Although this medium was very messy, the Compressed Charcoal HB, I was able to manipulate it  in order to show a variety of shades. This medium seems to have great versatility but I am not sure how much I would use it due to the mess that it seems to leave all over.

This medium was the Vine Charcoal. There seems to be a bit of an "airy" feeling to it and it seems a bit fragile. I do not know when I would actually want or need to use this medium because it seems that I could only create one shade of color while using it.

Ideal Drawing

http://www.drawinghand.net/hand-drawing-snow-landscapes/

My ideal drawing is one that portrays nature, is realistic, and demonstrates how beautiful it is to see an image in black and white. The image shown above of the beautiful winter scene is a perfect example as it incorporates many different aspects that I personally love.  I appreciate the realism this picture shows, and to be more specific, the  hyper-realism that was created by using graphite that shows its fracture. The artist made the image look almost photographic to an extent and wanted to capture the picture how he saw it in front of him. Had the artist of made this picture with any different type of medium I feel like it would have entirely changed how people see it.
